Voices for Hospices 2013
A huge success
300 singers from 7 choirs came together on a Saturday afternoon and in the space of 45 minutes they rehearsed 5 quite challenging pieces up to a high standard. The audience then arrived and the choirs performed on their own, managing the logistics of moving around the hall, to and from the stage, with no slips and to a pre-arranged timetable. Choir sizes ranged form 15 to 150 and performances were excellent. The audience reaction to each choir was enthusiastic, but they could not have anticipated what was to come - 300 singing together in the Harrow School New Speech Room. It was beautiful. For our 'solo' spot, 150 members of Tonic sang The Spitfire Song, Placido e il mar and Unchained Melody. The event raised well over £8,000 for St Luke's Hospice. |
