'Tonic is a life transforming experience. It is challenging and exhilarating, both at the same time, and taking part in a performance is a kind of top blast off. Thank you very much for the wonderful work you do for us.' (Tonic member)

The Tonic Choirs were founded by musical directors Bryan Kesselman and Philip Barnett in 2009. There are now about 250 members in four choirs, two in Hatch End, one in Radlett and one in Totteridge. A fifth group, Tonic Extra, tackles more challenging pieces.

Our aim is to have fun through singing a wide range of secular music. We welcome singers aged 18+ irrespective of ability. There are no auditions and you don't have to be able to read music. Our repertoire is broad and includes musical theatre, world music, classical and opera.

We invite guest practitioners to lead workshops and rehearsals, thereby further broadening members' experience. We are fortunate to have already worked with Helen Chadwick, Mary King, Pete Churchill, Brian Kay, and the BBC Singers.
